Despite starting with mostly overcast skies and a slight
chill in the air, Lennar’s event yesterday was (quite obviously) a resounding
success! Just don’t ask me to estimate the number of people, because quite
honestly, I am terrible at that…both that and distance estimation. Anyway, on
topic, the number of people that attended certainly surpassed my expectations. Everyone
I talked to about it said the same thing. Even my dad, who frequently works at and
attends such events for his job, mentioned that he was quite amazed at the
turnout, too. Not long after I arrived, when walking over to preview the
community center, I noticed that they even almost ran out of parking (with
three lots and parking on the street).
Kudos, Lennar! The event seemed to come off without a
hitch. If there were any issues in the day, they were certainly unnoticeable to
attendees. The radio station’s prize wheel was fun. They were giving out dvd’s
and assorted sundries. Lennar took entries for a guest to win an iPad. The
steel drum music was truly perfect. It was just one musician, sounded lovely,
and was light enough that conversation was unimpeded near it. The pleasant
music definitely fostered a very relaxed, vacation-type atmosphere.
Oh, and the food was absolutely fantastic! I have to give
more props here to Lennar and particularly to the caterers (Southern Accents).
It truly was an exceptional and lovely spread. Generally, at such events, one
expects either a bbq of hamburgers and hotdogs or a light appetizer-style with
fruit and finger foods. Being that the event was planned for mid-afternoon and
not a mealtime, I expected the latter. That surely was not the case. Along with
assorted chips and cookies, there were the hotdogs for those seeking the
traditional, but also pulled-pork, bratwursts, and kabobs of chicken with mixed
bell peppers. My mom and I each had a kabob and couldn’t stop raving about how unexpected
and delectable it really was. Between the food and the steel drum music, it was
almost like being on a cruise!
A Lennar employee said that it was fun and almost felt
like operating a Disney tour-type ride, driving a multiple passenger golf cart shuttling
8 to 10 passengers at a time to and from the models while pointing out items of
interest along the way. The models are not yet complete, but guests were still
granted access to preview the upcoming attractions…these are due to be complete
within the next few weeks. Although the models and the community center were
all still in various stages of construction, they were certainly buzzing with
guests’ interest piqued…anticipation and enthusiasm were definitely in the air
yesterday at the Gran Paradiso event. I am now even more anxious to see what
the upcoming opening of the models brings!
It was a tremendous event in what we truly believe is to
be a community of distinction with unparalleled benefits. As my mom and I were
leaving, one lady from another group must have overheard us talking while touring
models, and said, ‘So, I take it you ladies are buying a place in here?’ My mom
replied, ‘I will be as soon as my Realtor here can sell my current home.’ Oh,
yes, the plans are on that proverbial drawing board.
Thank you, Lennar, for the preview and for an event that
made for such a pleasurable afternoon!
